The CEDAW ratification of Japan has enhanced a collection of laws to gain gender equality. For a gender equal society the most protuberant is the basic law promulgation which set up principles for gaining Japanese gender equality. This development policy denotes that the Government of Japan is trying to serve its society towards gender equality. In fact, the gendered labor division has not been disabled nor the Government of Japan has designed to have it disabled. The efforts by the Government of Japan in gaining gender-equal society have been mainly due to internally the reduction of aging population and birth rate and externally the international pressure. The main issue of sexual equality is to give similar identification to women and men as human beings and to assure them the economic, political, social and legal conditions needed for their person’s existence. Though the Basic law and the measures enhanced by the Government of Japan is still short from motivating gender equality and does not declare equality as women’s human right.
